YMI is a group-based mentoring program that supports high school–aged young men as they build confidence, leadership skills, and concrete plans for their future. As a mentor, you’ll help guide students through conversations and activities centered on social-emotional learning, college and career readiness, financial literacy, global citizenship, and creative self-expression.
Group mentoring with up to 8 students
Meet twice per month starting now through June 2026
Mentors of all genders are welcome!
Must be 21+ years old
Receive a travel stipend of $85/month!

High School for Medical Professions, Canarsie, Brooklyn:
Mon, Wed, & Friday :2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
High School for Public Service, East Flatbush, Brooklyn:
Mon & Wed, 2:45 PM to 5:00 PM
High School for Global Citizenship, Crown Heights, Brooklyn:
Mon, Tues, & Wed 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Fri: 1:15 PM to 2:30 PM
You don’t need to have any prior teaching or mentoring experience; just a willingness to listen, show up consistently during a formative time in young peoples' lives, and model what it looks like to move through the world with intention and care.
