Global Kids–Washington, D.C. has helped young people develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and sense of agency they need to thrive in school, prepare for their futures, and contribute to their communities. Through partnerships with schools and community-based organizations across the District, GK provides in-school, after-school, summer, and experiential learning opportunities grounded in four interconnected pillars: academic achievement, college and career readiness, social-emotional learning, and global citizenship.

Students explore local and international issues, participate in cultural and career experiences, develop advocacy projects, and connect with community leaders and professionals. The D.C. Annual Youth Conference serves as a signature expression of this work, empowering students to research issues that affect their lives and lead educational experiences for their peers. Across its programs, GK–D.C. creates supportive spaces where young people can discover their strengths, expand their perspectives, and become informed, engaged leaders.
