Global Kids, LinkNYC, and the New York Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) announced today a new collaboration celebrating women of color in STEM fields on Links across New York City in honor of Women’s History Month.

One nonprofit has found a way to celebrate Women’s History Month in a new way. Five prominent women of color in STEM fields will be highlighted on LinkNYC displays throughout March, according to a March 1 press release.

Two students from John Adams High School in Ozone Park recounted their memorable trips to Japan and Poland, where they studied and participated in climate change activities and events.

On Tuesday, January 29th, two Global Kids students from John Adams High School (QNS) will discuss their respective service learning trips and experiences to Japan and Poland from last year in an interactive panel presentation.

Three Queens high schoolers took part in the United Nations Framework event on Climate Change (COP24) in Katowice, Poland.

The New York City-based Global Kids sent four high school students to Poland.

The trip is sponsored and organized by Global Kids, a nonprofit organization that works to develop youth leadership skills and civic engagement among teenagers.

Four high school students from Global Kids will travel to Katowice, Poland to participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) from December 4th through December 12th.

On Thursday, November 15th, nine Global Kids students will report on their service-learning trip to Japan last summer and screen videos they created about their experience and the impact of the Fukushima nuclear disaster.
