Global Kids' partnership with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the world’s leading international affairs think tank, has given our young people unique access to some of the world's leading foreign policy experts.
Since 1997, GK Leaders have dicussed with CFR Fellows, staff, and members critical foreign policy issues ranging from the war in Afghanistan to nuclear proliferation to the rise of China and India. This exceptional partnership offers a series of year-round events to help students develop a new consciousness of their place and potential power in the world. Programs include:U.S. in the World Initiative is an innovative year-long program that brings high school students to the Council’s headquarters for three intensive weeks during the Summer Institute at the CFR to interface with experts about critical foreign policy issues. Following the summer experience, students develop substantive peer education projects in their schools and communities to educate others and promote debate on key foreign policy topics. Check back in Spring 2018 for how to apply to this program.Monthly Roundtables at the CFR bring GK Leaders together with Council experts to examine specific foreign policy issues and explore historical backgrounds and current perspectives.
