How do you feel about the sudden positive comments and attention towards the President and Mayor Guliani?
I personally think that they should get a lot of the attention because
1) Mayor Guliani has done a lot for the city since the attacks
2) The president is the one that controls all the military actions,
so they deserve all of the attention that they are getting.

I don't think that the President and Mayor Guiliani should be called men of the year all of a sudden. I mean, no one really liked the fact that George Bush was president (practically by an unfair election) and then 9/11 and bang, he's so great. Wow (sarcastically). And then there's Mayor Guiliani. During his mayoral reign, there was Abner Louima, Amadou Diallo, and a lot of police brutality. Plus, during Mayor Guiliani's time, there was more police brutality cases settled than in most other mayoral reigns (through bribery). The men of the year are firefighters, the one's who lost their lives helping, not the president and former mayor.
I do think that President and Mayor Guliani have a lot to answer for, especially for things that happened in the past. I also feel as if firefighters deserve all the credit that they are getting and should be getting a lot more. I also believe that the President and Mayor Guliani deserve some of the credit that they are getting. I feel as if they are not doing all they can but they are doing something and for that they should be noticed. Maybe they shouldn't be getting all the credit that they are getting, but they definitely deserve some of it.
Hey everyone...Yes the firefighters should be commended for what they have done. They showed amazing bravery. The reason that Pres. Bush and mayor Guliani are being commended is that they have both (no matter how much you like them or hate them) showed an enormous amount of patriotic behavior and they have handled the situation in the best way possible. Yes some people do feel that George Bush is wrong in our war efforts, but both men have done what was in their power. As far as the past election went...I personally feel that it was meant to be that Bush won. We will have to see what will come...
I agree that the fire fighters should be commended for their efforts. But, Mayor Guliani and President Bush have also been major helps. Maybe they are getting too much credit, but I really don't know. I also know that Bush has to be in a hard position right now... it must be very stressful for both he and Guliani.
