Four Global Kids’ alumni volunteered their time to talk with current students about their careers and fields of study. The featured panelists (pictured above) were:
During the event, Eugene Martin noted how Global Kids had helped shape skills he uses in his job. “I learned compassion goes a long way when you consider other people’s cultures and other peoples’ backgrounds and how they are brought up... In my career I deal with people who are struggling in the legal system... people who are trying to get out of jail, get out of prison. Sometimes they can be irate, sometimes they can yell… even when you try to help them, they see you as an enemy. I learned how to deal with these different types of personalities and have an open mind through Global Kids’ leadership programs." Fahim Farazi also reflected upon the universality of Global Kids’ principles. "I’m still using ‘one mic and safe space’ because these are things that work everywhere." ![]() ![]() |
